Siding Companies in Babylon, NY
Have you ever taken a moment to evaluate the exterior of your home? A quick look reveals several features, each with its own important function. Your roof protects your family from falling branches and extreme temperatures, while your gutters direct water off the roof and away from your home. But how often do you consider your windows and siding?
The siding on your house is essential for protecting both you and your home from outdoor elements and harsh weather conditions. One of its main functions is to prevent leaks and stop water from seeping into your property, which can lead to mildew and mold growth. Additionally, siding helps insulate your house, potentially saving you money on energy bills.
Windows are just as important as siding. They allow natural light to brighten up dull spaces, help regulate indoor temperatures, and play a key role in transforming a house into a home. Both windows and siding contribute to the aesthetic appeal and functionality of your home, which is why it's crucial to find a trusted, licensed contractor who specializes in window and siding repair in Nassau County. Unfortunately, sifting through Google to find siding companies in Babylon, NY, can be a chore in and of itself. Do You Really Need Siding Repair in Babylon, NY?
Sometimes, it's pretty evident that your siding needs to be repaired, like when you see a hole in your vinyl siding. Other times, it's not as apparent. In such cases, Northeast Exteriors will send a qualified siding contractor to inspect your home, report damage, and suggest repair options. They'll take several factors into consideration, including:

Causes of Your Siding Damage
Siding damage can result from several factors, making it essential to identify the root cause for effective repairs. Common causes include severe weather—like hail, wind, or heavy rain—which can create dents, cracks, or dislodge the siding. Poor installation may lead to gaps and weak attachment, while aging siding can become brittle and more prone to damage. Pests can also compromise siding integrity. By recognizing the cause of your siding damage, we can quickly address the issue and implement measures to prevent future repairs.

Types of Siding Damage on Your Home
Siding damage can take on many different appearances and forms. For instance, you may notice cracks or warping in certain areas, while other sections may be suffering from rot or fading. Water damage can also wreak havoc on your siding, leading to further complications. Water damage can also cause hazardous mold and allergens to proliferate. These scenarios can leave sensitive individuals at risk and may even result in a trip to The Bristal Assisted Living at West Babylon near Babylon, NY. No two types of siding damage are ever the same, which is why we approach every siding repair job with a fresh pair of eyes and an open mind. That way, we can better ensure that your siding is restored to its former glory.

Our aim is not to empty your wallet but to deliver top-notch siding repair services that allow you to enjoy your home or work environment without any stress.
Rethink Style and Substance with Siding Installation from Northeast Exteriors

With a variety of high-quality siding materials available, you'll have numerous options to achieve the ideal design for your home. Top 3 Signs It's Time for New Siding Installation
If you're a homeowner on Long Island, you might be questioning if it's time to replace your property's siding. Generally speaking, if your siding has been in place for over 20 years, it's likely time for a new installation. But what other indicators should you look out for?

Warping and Bulging
It's essential to evaluate your cladding from various perspectives, as there may be instances where visible holes or gaps aren't present, yet the cladding can still become warped. This could manifest as certain areas bulging outward or cupping inward, signaling that there may be underlying issues. Typically, this points to moisture damage that should be addressed without delay.
Expensive Utility Bills
If you get an energy bill higher than Village Of Babylon Historical Preservation Society near Babylon, NY, consider it a red flag. If you notice cold drafts around your walls, windows, light switches, or electrical outlets, it may indicate that your siding is damaged, leading to increased energy costs. It's a good idea to consult a professional siding contractor to pinpoint the issue. If the problem is linked to your cladding, upgrading to energy-efficient insulated vinyl siding could result in significant savings over time.

Cracks, Gaps, and More
Cracks, gaps, or holes in your cladding can lead to significant issues by allowing water to enter your walls, causing problems like rot, mold, and mildew. Repairing this damage is often costly, leading many homeowners to opt for new siding instead. Beyond compromising your home's structural integrity, these gaps can also invite pests like rats and termites, posing further risks to your home and health.
Revitalize Your Home with Quality Window Repair
As a local window repair company in Babylon, NY, we know that windows greatly enhance the charm of a home by providing natural light, fresh air, and beautiful views. However, they can also lead to frustration when damaged or worn out. On Long Island and in other parts of New York, window issues are common due to our unique weather challenges. Northeast Exterior Pro Tip: If you have a couple of windows that need repairs and the frames are still good, repairing them can be a cost-effective option. It's often cheaper than installing new windows, especially for simple mechanical issues. Repairing is typically quick and easy, especially with licensed contractors like those at Northeast Exteriors.

When It's Time for Window Installation, Call Northeast Exteriors
Did you know that any gap or break in your siding can lead to long-term issues such as moisture buildup, air drafts, and unwanted heat transfer? Often, these problems arise when windows deteriorate and require replacement. While hearing that you need to replace your windows can be daunting, it's a necessary step for many homeowners on Long Island. That's where Northeast Exteriors steps in.
Replacing windows is a major undertaking that demands thoughtful consideration. Whether your windows are damaged or simply outdated, there are numerous factors to take into account, and only a professional can help you achieve optimal results. At Northeast Exteriors, we pride ourselves on being one of the most reliable window installation companies in New York. We operate with integrity and transparency, providing cost-effective solutions that prioritize our clients' satisfaction.
Telltale Signs Your Windows Need Replacing
A frequent question we receive from clients is whether they should replace their windows. It's difficult to provide a definitive answer without inspecting the windows in person. However, there are several noticeable indicators that can help you determine if a replacement is necessary. If you observe any of the signs below, it's a good idea to reach out to Northeast Exteriors for assistance.

Broken Windowpanes
It doesn't take a graduate from Western Suffolk Boces Second near Babylon, NY, to know that if your windows are broken, they need to be replaced. The good news? Occasionally, our window contractors can replace your glass while leaving your sashes and frames on, which can save you money.

Leaky Frames
Moisture leaks around windows are often the result of aging wood frames that have gradually deteriorated over time. Signs of issues can typically be seen on the drywall or flooring beneath a leaking window, or by noticing rotting wood on the interior or exterior trim.

Single-Pane Pain Points
Single-pane windows are recognized for their inefficiency as they allow a significant amount of heat to escape. By upgrading to insulated, low-e windows, you can significantly lower your energy costs.

Fogging
Foggy dual-pane windows arise when the seal around the edges of the windowpane fails. This breakdown lets air in, resulting in condensation and a cloudy look. Not only does this hinder your view, but it also signifies a loss of insulation, which can reduce the window's energy efficiency.
The Premier Choice for Roof Repair in Babylon, NY
Siding and repair projects often go hand-in-hand with roofing projects, which is why roofing companies in Babylon, NY like Northeast Exteriors also provide roof repair and installation services.
Why Should You Consider Roof Repairs for Your Home on Long Island?
A robust and reliable roof serves as your home's primary shield against harsh weather and falling debris. With regular maintenance, a roof can endure for many years. However, there will come a time when repairs are necessary to extend its life, or it may be time to consider a complete replacement. Installing a new roof not only enhances protection but can also boost your home's perceived curb appeal by up to 40%, adding beauty and potentially increasing its resale value.
Roof Repair Red Flags
Inspections are best for spotting signs of disrepair, but you can also use your eyes, ears, and nose to spot issues with your roofing system. Keep these red flags in mind the next time you're walking around your yard.
Buckling and Curling
Examine the roof slope on the side of your house that gets direct sunlight. If you notice that the shingles are curling or buckling, it may indicate that they have exceeded their lifespan. This could also suggest that they were faulty from the beginning. A qualified roofing contractor can help you determine the root of the issue.

Broken Shingles
Although shingles are generally designed for durability, they will eventually deteriorate over time. Several factors can speed up this process. For example, inadequate ventilation on your roof can lead to cracks in the shingles, causing them to wear out much more quickly.
Dark Streaks and Algae
Algae are present in the air around us, and, if allowed to settle on your roof, can create unsightly dark streaks. Not only is this visually unappealing, but it can also be detrimental to your shingles. In addition to algae, you may also notice moss, particularly on roof areas that don't receive as much direct sunlight.
Moss not only detracts from your roof's appearance but also indicates more serious issues. It holds moisture close to the roof surface, which can damage the shingle granules. While you might consider removing the moss yourself, doing so could potentially harm your roof. If you observe a significant amount of moss, it's wise to reach out to a professional roofing contractor for assistance.

BABYLON, NY — Babylon Social—a new "community-centered brewpub"—will open in Babylon this May.
Owners Chris Cappiello and James Economou told Patch they envision the restaurant as the community's "go-to dining destination any day of the week, offering a unique blend of American and Italian cuisine.'
The restaurant is making a home in the former Horace & Sylvia’s at 100 Deer Park Ave.
"Our menu features a fun selection of shareable appetizers, oversized sandwiches, wraps, burgers, fresh salads and an extensive selection of customizable brick oven pizzas," Cappiello said. "Ensuring that there’s something for everyone, whether you are on a quick lunch break or celebrating with friends."
Cappiello said the community can expect a "true social experience." They're creating an atmosphere that's "modern and inviting, with an industrial chic design, a cozy ambiance and welcoming staff."

"Our establishment is a place where guests can relax, enjoy great food, delicious craft beer and cocktails, and of course, create lasting memories," Cappiello said.
Babylon Social is the next step for the duo, who, before partnering up, both had careers in the food industry on Long Island and beyond.
Cappiello, who's from Stony Brook, started in the hospitality industry when he was just 14 and "never turned back."
"I knew immediately that this is where my passion lies, creating memorable dining experiences and leaving impactful memories with every individual who walked through the doors," he said.
Throughout his career, he's overseen several restaurants, including Southampton Social Club, Union Burger Bar and The Baylander Steel Beach.
Economou, who's originally from Port Jefferson, began his journey in the restaurant industry during college in Connecticut, where he worked as a bartender, server and bouncer. After graduation, he played professional football before spending six years coaching Division I college football.
But his "passion" for the restaurant industry persisted, and he transitioned back into hospitality during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, Economou "proudly" owns two restaurants on Long Island.
After so much experience away from home, Cappiello and Economou felt that Babylon was the "perfect" place to put down new roots.
"Babylon is a vibrant village with immense potential for growth and community engagement. My partner's family has deep roots in the area and strong connections, which helped us understand and appreciate the local culture," Cappiello said. "We believe that Babylon is the perfect location for our vision of a community-centered brewpub."
So far, they've "had so much fun" bringing new life to a former village staple with a custom brick pizza over and designing "every inch" of the concept and touching upon every detail personally.
"We're excited to be part of the Babylon community and to make Babylon Social a place for family and friends to create traditions for years to come," Cappiello said. "We cannot wait to welcome you."

NORTH BABYLON, NY — The New York Blood Center has announced an "urgent call" for blood donations after the blood supply nationwide hit a "dangerously low" level, with collections nearly 20 percent below hospital demand.
The NYBC is urging people to donate, especially those with type O+ and O- blood. According to the organization, O- is the universal blood type used in emergencies and the current supply has dropped to a critically low two-day level. In a press release, the NYBC said it expects to collect only about 6,500 donations this week, falling about 1,600 donations short of what is needed to maintain a safe and stable blood supply in New York.
NYBC said spring travel, school breaks and packed calendars have kept regular donors away—leaving donation levels dangerously low at a time when they should be ramping up. More than 56,000 traumas are reported in New York State annually, most occurring between May and September when accidents, car crashes and violent injuries rise dramatically.
The North Babylon community is rallying to help and the North Babylon Chamber of Commerce is hosting a blood drive at Sunset Plaza on Monday, April 28, from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
Appointments are recommended, but not required, and can be scheduled here.

Before donating blood, it's important to eat and drink. Eligible donors must have an ID with a signature or photo, weigh at least 110 pounds, have gotten no tattoos in the past year and be 16 to 75 years of age (16-year-old donors require parental consent.)

WEST BABYLON, NY — Fabrics and crafts retailer Joann is closing 500 of its 800 stores nationwide, including its West Babylon location.
A store manager told Patch on Monday that the West Babylon store on Montauk Highway will close its door for good on Monday, April 28. Until then, it's offering liquidation sales of 50 to 90 percent off on everything, she said.
In February, Patch reported that Joann announced plans to close stores in all 50 states, with New York, California, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Washington among those affected most, according to CNN.
A company spokesperson said that "right-sizing our store footprint is a critical part of our efforts to ensure the best path forward." The spokesperson also told USA Today it was "a very difficult decision to make, given the major impact we know it will have on our Team Members, our customers and all of the communities we serve."
The company will decide which stores to close after "a careful analysis" of how those stores are performing.

Last March, the retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and kept all of its stores open. At that time, the company said it had acquired $132 million in new funding which it planned to use to reduce its debt by approximately $505 million.
Sales at Joann had slumped after a jump during the pandemic, when Americans were isolated in their homes and spent more money on sewing and craft supplies. Due to the subsequent inflation, many people had to cut back on their discretionary spending.
